He was was marched north and joined the army commanded by General Washington where he saw action in the defeat of Long Island. Afterwards he was placed in the Company of Capt. Nice commanded by Col Stewart, was in the Battles of Brandywine, Germantown and skirmish at White Plains after the defeat on Long Island and was discharged after fulfilling the term of his enlistment. Afterwards he enlisted in militia of the state of Maryland and was marched to Annapolis, Maryland and remained in service about 4 or 5 weeks and upon learning that Cornwallis was captured was discharged.(Pension: S36684 PA) | ||
