Chapter Leadership Information

This page is for those that are in leadership positions within a chapter, or are considering a leadership position in the future.  We have curated a list of resources that may be helpful.

SAR University - A resource created and maintained by the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.  This online, self-paced educational system covers several important topics 

NSSAR's Americanism Committee - The Americanism Score Sheet may be used as a measure of the health of your chapter. Members should consider each of the named Categories as Goals to achieve organizational success. We should challenge each other to reach the goals for every categories. As this challenging of members by other members to achieve these goals you will see your the attitude of your chapter’s membership change from dutiful attendance at chapter activities and meetings to one of enthusiastic involvement and a willing desire to participate. You will gradually see chapter membership start to call the chapter “our chapter” as they take ownership of the many facets of chapter activities and functions. Once this starts the enthusiasm becomes contagious and fosters involvement by less active members who start to participate and have fun the furthering chapter goals.

Kentucky SAR's Constitution and Bylaws - These documents are the governing documents for our state society.  In addition to the National Society's SAR Handbook, these documents are to be followed.

Kentucky SAR's New Member Orientation - This document, available here as an editable template, can be customized for any chapter, and given to new members.  Making this a routine practice will help new members better engage with their chapter, and with the Kentucky SAR at-large, and will help in retaining their membership.

Kentucky SAR's Branding Standards - This area of our website includes information pertaining to our brand, and how a chapter's brand is to be maintained to ensure consistency across the society.

NSSAR's main website - When logged into your member account, you have access to numerous member-only resources that all compatriots are encouraged to be aware of, but are crucial to the success of a chapter.
